Jonathan Majorsis one of the hottest stars in Hollywood these days. With him joining the MCU as Kang the Conqueror and his recent filmCreed III, it’s hard not to take notice. The 33-year-old actor has been working hard in the industry since his debut through the filmHostilesin 2017, and now he’s a hot topic thanks to his movieCreed III. The actor recently shared some behind the scene details of the film.
Majors had to build muscles and strength forCreed III. With theRockyfranchise’s tradition of showcasing training montages, viewers sawMichael B. Jordan’s Adonis and Majors’ Damian undergo excruciating training for their battles. One of these montages saw Majors pulling himself up tall ropes on the beach just using his upper body strength.

Since the actor underwent intensive physical training, he was able to triumphantly pull off the scene. He said toEW, “The ropes were a very inspiring choice,It was not mandatory, I was not even asked to go up the rope that way. But when we got to the beach, I looked at it and thought, Why not? I think I can, I think I can. So when they said ‘action,’ I just went up. That was a pretty great moment.”
Aside from the physical aspect, the actor helped Jordan build his character Damian. When Jordan got the script for the film, it was barely put together. Majors shares, “The character’s name was originally Brandon — it was completely different. There was a vehicle, but the vehicle had no paint on it and it had no wheels. We just knew who was going to drive it. The design of it was essentially very Mary Shelley.”
SinceCreeddirector Ryan Coogler was busy makingBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever, he introduced them to producer D’Angelo “D’Lo” Louis, who knows a lot about the franchise. Majors said, “I just know a lot of people who have been in and out, some people who have been more in than out, and got to speak to them. This fellow named D’Lo, who’s Ryan Coogler’s best friend, he was more or less my consultant and diviner on the piece to make sure we were always within the lines of the truthfulness of what it would be like to be an incarcerated man at this time.”

Michael B. Jordan Promised to Glorify Jonathan Majors in Creed III
Majors also shared how he got to star inCreed III. He said, “I got it directly from the source, I mean, really directly: [Michael B. Jordan] He asked for my mobile number, I gave it to him, we FaceTimed, and he pitched me on the film. I knew Creed III was around, and I figured he was directing, since that’s kind of what everyone was saying. He confirmed it and he walked me through what the story was going to be.”
The New York Timesreported that Jordan apparently had the most attractive pitch to Majors. The director said he’d glorify Majors in the film, which might have factored in why the actor accepted Creed III. But in the end, it was more about how Jordan treated the film. Majors said, “Ultimately, the thing that got my attention was how he was pitching it, with so much passion and clarity, and that this would be a character coming in who we’ve not seen before,"
