Over the past few days, Warner Bros. has been releasing brieftrailer previewsto get fans ready for the fullKong: Skull Islandtrailer, which is slated to debut later today. While we wait for the trailer, the studio has debuted two final trailer previews, along with two posters that surfaced from the Twitter accounts of starsBrie LarsonandTom Hiddleston. The final preview gives us our first look at a mysterious reptilian monster that is seen coming out of the sea.

This is the first we’re seeing or hearing about a reptilian creature being included inKong: Skull Island, and hopefully we’ll get to see more whenWarner Bros.debuts the full trailer. It’s possible that this creature could be tied into Warner Bros.‘Godzilla vs. King Kong, which has been set for release on June 05, 2025. There have been reports that theSkull Islandscript features references to Monarch, the monster-hunting agency that was featured in the 2014 blockbusterGodzilla. Characters such as Dr. Ishiro Serizawa (Ken Watanabe) and Vivienne Graham (Sally Hawkins) worked for Monarch inGodzilla, but it hasn’t been confirmed if they will return forGodzilla vs. King Kongor not.

The second preview only showcases a pair of giant ape skeletons laying on the ground, presumably just a few ofKing Kong’s fomer freinds turned victims. DirectorJordan Vogt-Robertsrevealed this summer thatKong: Skull Islandwill feature the largest version of this King Kong ever seen on the big screen. The director teased that his King Kong will be over 100 feet tall. These posters give us a better idea of just how big this King Kong really is, with an Army helicopter being dwarfed by this massive ape as it flies by in one of the posters. It was also confirmed that the trailer will debut onJimmy Kimmel LivewithTom Hiddlestonintroducing the new footage.

In the spirit of its worldwide blockbusterGodzilla, Legendary Pictures presents a bold new take on the mythos of another iconic beast withKong: Skull Island, which starsTom Hiddleston.  Directed byJordan Vogt-Roberts(The Kings of Summer) and written byJohn Gatins(Flight) andMax Borenstein(Godzilla),Kong: Skull Islandwill fully immerse audiences in the mysterious and dangerous home of the king of the apes as a team of explorers ventures deep inside the treacherous, primordial island.  Legendary’s story honors the foundations of existing King Kong lore, but places it in an entirely new, distinct timeline.

Reilly,Tian Jing,Corey Hawkins,Jason Mitchell,John Ortiz,Thomas Mann,Shea WhighamandEugene Cordero.Thomas Tull(Godzilla,The Dark Knight,Pacific Rim) andJon Jashni(Godzilla,Warcraft) will produce andAlex Garcia(Godzilla) will executive produce.
