The Simpsonsare once again poking some fun at the president of the United States and his feud with “The Squad” in a new short video titledWest Wing Story, which you’re able to watch for yourself below. Spoofing the song “America” from the hit musicalWest Side Story, the clip begins with Donald Trump in the Oval Office muttering to himself how he needs a distraction. He then picks up a framed photo of congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib and starts mocking them in song. “They shouldn’t be in America, no one but me in America, no taxes for me in America, this is my natural hair-ica,” the president sings.
Of course, The Squad members get their chance to return with some burning lyrics of their own. After magically jumping out of the photo, the congresswomen chaseTrumpinto theWhite Housekitchen, taking turns exchanging some verbal barbs with their Republican rival. Ultimately, the four women get the last word. “You’re Boris Johnson without the class, can’t wait to see you behind prison glass, your nose is right up Putin’s ass; we say it’s time to impeach you fast,” the ladies all sing together. All the while, a crowd of protesters cheer them on from the other side of the White House gates by holding anti-Trump signs.
Things then get even worse for the president in the clip when all of the Democratic candidates in the running come dancing into view, each with locked arms. Trump’s desire to compete with his adversaries leads him to jump into the routine, desperate to be the last one to lose his breath or fall down. He then indeed falls to the ground unconscious, resulting in a giggling Joe Biden to quip, “Who’s an old man now?” Meanwhile,Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard, Elizabeth Warren, and all of the rest of the other Democratic nominee hopefuls continue to dance.
The folks behindThe Simpsonshave been rather outspoken lately, as they recently took a shot at their new bosses atDisneyas well. As previously reported,The Simpsonsbecame the property of the House of Mouse following Disney’s merge with Fox, but the animated family isn’t wasting time having some fun with the new brass. When the official Twitter account for the Disney+ streaming service essentially bragged about how they’ve brought together Marvel andStar Wars, calling it the “most ambitious crossover event in history.” In response, the Twitter account forThe Simpsonstweeted an image of Comic Book Guy along with the words, “Worst. Corporate Twitter stunt. Ever.”
The Simpsonshas been on the air for three decades, but Fox has no plans to end the record-breaking series anytime soon. Earlier this year, the network ordered another two episodes of the animated series, ensuringThe Simpsonswill have at least 32 seasons and 700 episodes.
