2024 was a pretty good year forA24, the acclaimed production and distribution company that’s given us such hits asEverything Everywhere All At Once,Moonlight,Civil War, and Ti West’sXtrilogy. They’ve released just three films thus far, and their latest offering,Opus, has now set a dismal box office record. Per Variety, this past weekend was one of the worst in recent memory, with all films earning a combined total of just $52 million dollars, including five nationwide releases....

Feature films have been delighting, shocking, scaring, and making the audience laugh and cry for over a century. In that time, thousands of actors and actresses have graced the silver screen. Less, but still a significant amount have gone on to superstardom, dating back to silent films when Greta Garbo, Rudolph Valentino, and Charlie Chaplin were all big stars. Paramount has shuffled around their release calendar a bit, providing one long-awaited movie with a release date, delaying another and removing one more from its 2019 slate entirely. Starting with the big one, the studio has removedAre You Afraid of the Dark?from this year’s calendar. The live-action take on the kid-friendly horror series was originally slated to hit theaters later this year on October 11. Now, the studio has taken it off of the 2019 calendar altogether....
