The Huntis a sledgehammer satire meant to pick at the scabs of partisan division. It’s an ultra-violent, bloody deathmatch between so-called “liberal elites” and the “deplorables” of flyover country. Red states vs blue states, gun control vs gun rights, Fox News vs NPR, you get the drift. The film revels in stereotypes and savagery. The controversy, or hype in my opinion, is much ado about nothing.The Huntisn’t clever or incisive, but actually entertaining in a gleefully macabre way....

Tyler Perry’s movieThe Six Triple Eightis about the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion and its heroism during World War Two. The 6888th was a unit of 885 Black Women’s Army Corp (WAC) and was the only all-Black and all-female group to serve overseas. Their task was to deliver millions of pieces of undelivered mail to military personnel to boost morale in the later days of the war. The Six Triple Eight,distributed by Netflix,stars Kerry Washington as Captain Charity Adams, the woman in charge of the 6888th, with Oprah Winfrey, Sam Waterston, and Susan Sarandon contributing to the cast....
