Despite the laughter they might elicit from viewers with their material, the life of a stand-up comic can be incredibly difficult and painful - perhaps much more so than most realize. From director Jorgy Cruz, the documentaryFunny Painsdelves directly into this unseen part of the comedy business, following the rise of comedian Wendi Starling. The movie will make you laugh at times with its jokes from Starling and other featured comics, but it’s not exactly a picnic either, as Starling also touches on her difficult personal traumas....

Double the Will Smith is, it would seem, not a recipe for box office success, asGemini Manis set to be a huge box office bomb. Directed by Ang Lee, the action flick sees a hitman, played by Smith, who winds up entangled in a battle with a younger version of himself. Fancy (and expensive) de-aging technology was employed to bring this movie to life and, unfortunately for investors, moviegoers simply weren’t as interested in this gimmick as expected....

Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, the duo who penned last year’s breakout hitA Quiet Place, have returned with a new movie,Haunt. This time around, they’re in the director’s chair(s) as well, for this surprising little haunted house slasher flick. While this certainly isn’t as big or as flashy as the movie that put them on the map, this serves as a nice, twisted surprise heading into the Halloween season. Hauntcenters on a group of friends led by the mysterious and quiet Harper (Katie Stevens)....

Robert Englund has repeatedly claimed that his time as Freddy Krueger is at an end, but could he be coaxed back one more time to play the iconic Springwood killer? Fans will certainly be hoping so, as actressHeather Langenkamprecently revealed that she would certainly like to have one final showdown with the razor-fingered dream demon. Heather Langenkamp is to theNightmare on Elm Streetfranchise what Jamie Lee Curtis is to Halloween, and it was while watching Curtis’ return to the franchise after many years that the actress realized she would love to see her character of Nancy returning to Elm Street one more time....

Jared Leto’s Joker is back in a new sneak peek at the character’s return inZack Snyder’s Justice League. Set to release on HBO Max next month, the highly-anticipated “Snyder Cut” of the controversial 2017 movie will bring back Leto to reprise his role as the Joker for the first time since making his debut in 2016’sSuicide Squad. An alternate look has also been teased for the supervillain, and Snyder teased Joker’s new appearance in a photo posted to Vero....

It has just been revealed thatJunkie XL, aka Tom Holkenborg, recently finished his score for the upcomingMortal Enginesmovie. Before it was revealed that the composer was going to take on the project, a few internet forums had already decided that he’d be a good fit because of his work onMad Max: Fury Road. As evidenced by theMortal Enginestrailer, it has a similar feel to Fury Road, and while that’s not necessarily a reason to choose a composer, Junkie XL’s use of atmospherics and extreme moods does make him a rather perfect candidate....

Kevin Hartmay still host the Academy Awards. The comedian appeared onEllenand told the host that he will reconsider his decision to quit. Hart was announced as the host of the annual event and stepped down two days later after old anti-gay tweets from social media were unearthed and reposted, causing a backlash. Hart apologized to the LGBTQ community and made the decision to leave in an effort to not have controversy take away from the night and the people on stage winning their awards....

It hasn’t been a good couple of days for Lori Loughlin andFelicity Huffman, who were publicly named as part of a bribery scheme earlier this week. The two television actresses are among 50 parents charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud. According to the FBI, the parents involved are alleged to have made monetary donations to have their children admitted into prestigious colleges. Coincidentally enough, however, this is not the first time Loughlin and Huffman have dealt with this situation, as they’ve both played characters who’ve been in very similar school admission fraud storylines on their respective TV shows....
