Percy Jackson and the Olympians: An Exciting Adaptation of Rick Riordan’s Books

After months of build-up, Disney finally released a teaser for their upcoming series adaptation ofPercy Jackson and the Olympians. Though there have been mixed reactions to some of the casting decisions, this brief teaser has audiences hopeful that the show will live up to the book series. Notably, the teaser made impressive work out of providing a brief but exciting glimpse into what fans can expect from this highly anticipated show.

Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz are leading the charge in translating Rick Riordan’s beloved series Percy Jackson into a television series. Walker Scobell plays Percy, while Leah Sava Jeffries plays Annabeth Chase, Athena’s daughter and a fierce warrior as well as Percy’s loyal friend. Young actor Aryan Simhadri steps up to the plate to portray Grover, Percy’s best friend who is actually a satyr sent to protect him. Aryan has worked with Disney in works such as Spin and Trevor: The Musical.

Logan Lerman, 18 at the time, portrayed Percy in the first movie yet his fellow cast members Alexandra Daddario and Brandon T. Jackson were 24 and 26 respectively. This age disparity was one major factor that lead to a backlash from some fans. The faulty CGI ofPercy Jackson: Sea of Monstersonly added fuel to the fire, but it is certain that the upcoming adaptation will be far superior thanks to an increased budget matching Disney+ blockbustersWandaVisionandThe Mandalorian. All in all, everything seems set for an exciting new adventure amidst gods and demigods.
