Amazon Studios has won the bid to distribute an upcomingromantic thriller,Ending ThingsstarringPriyanka Chopra JonasandAnthony Mackie. The film was pitched in as a spec script by Kevin Sullivan in a competition, wherein Amazon emerged as the winner. According toDeadline, the film features a“True Lies-Esque”story of a romance between an assassin and her partner in crime.
The film was under the eyes of several studios for a while and gained momentum after Mackie and Chopra Jonas signed on to portray the two leads in it. The film will be a joint production between Inspire Entertainment’s Jason Spire, Davis Entertainment’s Jeremy Stein, Lit Entertainment, and Anthony Mackie through his Make It With Gravy Productions. Priyanka Chopra Jonas will also serve as an executive producer. Earlier Spire and Mackie have collaborated onOutside The Wirein which Mackie also played the lead role.
An Action-Romance Blooms InEnding Things
Thefilm follows an assassinportrayed by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who decides to quit this business and asks for an out. But that also means breaking things off with her partner, presumably portrayed by Mackie. However, as time passes, she realizes her love for her partner, but still does not want to do anything with the business. As ‘ending things’ with her partner becomes more and more difficult, the duo unites for one last assignment, that shall put their love to an ultimate complex test.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas has already been working on a global event seriesCitadelfor Amazon Studios and has producedEvil Eyefor them, under a first-look deal she has with Amazon for making global TV productions. She is also awaiting the release of her romantic dramaText For You. Besides having more than a successful career in India, Chopra Jonas has featured insome of the biggest filmsrecently such asThe Matrix ResurrectionsandThe White Tiger, which she also produced.The White Tigerwas nominated for an Oscar in the Best Adapted Screenplay category. Her stint in the U.S. started withQuantico, a spy-thriller series in which she portrayed the lead. She then appeared inBaywatch,A Kid Like Jake, andWe Can Be Heroes. She also appeared in the documentaryChasing Happiness, about her husband Nick Jonas and his brothers’ music career.
On the other hand, Mackie is known for his portrayal of Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He gained further recognition for his role inAltered Carbon,Synchronic,and The Woman in the Window. He reprised his role of Sam Wilson/Falcon to critical acclaim inThe Falcon and The Winter Soldier, which led Marvel Studios to rope him infor thefourth Captain America filmset in the MCU. He is also set to appear in theseries adaptation ofTwisted Metal.
