Peacock has revealed thePunky Brewsterreboot premiere date, along with a first-look image. The original show ran on NBC from 1984 to 1986, and again with new episodes in syndication from 1987 to 1988. The show quickly became a cult hit and even spawned an animated series which saw cast members return. Over the years, the cult of Punky Power has grown, so it seemed like a no-brainer for Peacock to announce that they were bringing star Soleil Moon Frye to star in thePunky Brewsterreboot series early last year.

All ten episodes of thePunky Brewsterreboot series will premiere on February 25th. Fans of Punky will be able to binge watch all episodes on that date.Peacocksays that the reboot series is a continuation of the iconic 80s sitcom about a bright young girl raised by a foster dad, Henry Warnimont. Punky is now a single mother of three trying to get her life back on track when she meets Izzy, a young girl in the foster system who reminds Punky a lot of her younger self.

In addition to the return ofSoleil Moon Frye, thePunk Brewsterreboot series also sees Cherie Johnson reprise her role as Punky’s best friend Cherie. The series also stars Freddie Prinze Jr. as Travis, Punky’s ex-husband, Quinn Copeland as Izzy, Noah Cottrell as Diego, Oliver De Los Santos as Daniel, and Lauren Lindsey Donzis as Hannah. Both Johnson and Frye look like they have barely aged since the 1980s in the first-look image, which also features Prinze Jr., Cottrell, De Los Santos, Copeland, and Donzis. ThePunky Brewsterreboot series follows in the footsteps of Peacock’s successfulSaved by the Bellreboot series.

All 4 original seasons ofPunky Brewsterare currently available to stream on Peacock for fans looking to catch up before the February 25th premiere of the reboot. The reboot was announced early last year and Soleil Moon Frye noted that she was going to do her best tobring Punky back for a new generation, while staying true to the original series. “I am beyond thrilled and honored to be bringing Punky back! I’m grateful to our NBCUniversal Content Studios and Peacock family and to our incredible team of creators, writers, producers, cast, and crew that have put their hearts into this journey every step of the way.”

ThePunky Brewsterreboot series is written and executive-produced by Steve and Jim Armogida (Grounded For Life). Soleil Moon Frye is also an executive producer, alongside original series creator David Duclon and Jimmy Fox of Main Event Media. Frye dedicated the new series “to ourincredible fans who have stood by us.” She went on to say, “thank you for believing in me and I will do my best to make you proud. I love you.
