Earlier this season onThe Flash, it was revealed that Jax Jackson (Franz Drameh) would be stepping in forRobbie Amell’s Ronnie Raymond as the second half ofFirestorm, withVictor Garber’s Dr. Martin Stein. Last month,Robbie Amellsent out two cryptic photos that teased he was returning toThe Flash, and now we have the first photo of the actor on the set, thanks toCanada Graphs. It isn’t known what specific episode the actor will be returning in, but it’s clear that he will appear as the Firestorm in Earth-2
We haven’t seenRobbie Amell’s Ronnie Raymond sinceThe Flash Season 2premiere,The Man Who Saved Central City, where it was revealed that Ronnie disappeared into the singularity known as the Speed Force. Ronnie made up one half of the iconic character Firestorm, along withVictor Garber’s Dr. Martin Stein. In Ronnie’s absence, we learned in the fourth episode,The Fury of Firestorm, thatBarry Allen(Grant Gustin) and his team had to find a new Firestorm match for Stein, which turned out to by Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (Franz Drameh).
The new photos posted byRobbie Amellfeatured the actor reuniting withVictor Garber, along with a shot of the Firestorm suit. SinceFranz Dramehwill be a series regular onDC’s Legends of Tomorrow, it’s been assumed that Jax Jackson and Martin Stein will be the new Firestorm combo in that series. It isn’t quite clear from these photos ifRobbie Amellis coming back toThe Flash, or if he’s putting in an appearance onDC’s Legends of Tomorrow, but the latter seems more likely.
SinceDC’s Legends of Tomorrowdeals with time travel, it’s possible thatRobbie Amell’s potential appearance could be a flashback to a time when he was part of Firestorm with Stein, which would explain why the actor would post a photo of the Firestorm suit. Another possibility is we could see what happens to Ronnie in Earth-2 onThe Flash, after he entered the Singularity, where he could theoretically run into Earth-2’s Martin Stein. Until we get any confirmed details, though, this is all speculation.
Regardless of which show he’ll appear on, it seems that Ronnie Raymond will return to thisDCuniverse at some point. It’s worth mentioning that his wife Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) has struck up a budding relationship with Earth-2’s Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) since Ronnie’s disappearance, so we’ll have to wait and see how that plays out in the episodes ahead.
