In just a few short months, 20th Century Fox will release the long-awaitedDeadpool, which starRyan Reynoldshad been trying to get off the ground for several years. The buzz swirling around this superhero movie is already quite high, after thefirst trailerdebuted at San Diego Comic Con this summer. While it isn’t known when we’ll see the next footage from this comic book adaptation,Ryan Reynoldssent out a new photo on his verifiedTwitteraccount, showing the actor in his fullDeadpoolcostume, trick-or-treating with a group of youngX-Menmutants on Halloween. Here’s what the actor had to say on hisTwitterpage yesterday.

“Dear Fox, stop changing the timelines. It’s confusing the audience. #xmenassemble #happyhalloween.”

The actor’s joke aboutX-Men’s timeline comes over a year after the studio releasedX-Men: Days of Future Past. That movie united the younger stars from 2011’sX-Men: First Classwith their present-day counterparts from the originalX-Mentrilogy.X-Men: Days of Future Pastessentially reset the entire franchise’s timeline, creating a whole new “present day” that brought Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) back to life, after she was killed in 2006’sX-Men: The Last Stand.

Next year’sX-Men: Apocalypsewill be set in the early 1980s, closing out the trilogy that started withX-Men: First Classand continued withX-Men: Days of Future Past. It isn’t clear where the studio plans on taking the franchise afterX-Men: Apocalypse, or howDeadpooland the upcomingGambitmovie will tie into the franchise moving forward. It has been confirmed thatDeadpoolis a part of theX-Menuniverse, and there is one character we know about that is crossing over.

While we didn’t see much of him in the first trailer,Colossuswill be an important part of theDeadpoolmovie. The character was originally portrayed byDaniel CudmoreinX2: X-Men United,X-Men: The Last Standand last year’sX-Men: Days of Future Past, but inDeadpool, he will be portrayed byAndre Tricoteux. The actor revealed last week that his version of the character will be much closer to the comics thanDaniel Cudmore’s portrayal.
