When he returned to the field to avenge his dog as a retired hitman in 2014,John Wickbrought freshness to the action genre by seeking new flavors, and in a very short time, the Keanu Reeves-led series became a hugely popular and lucrative brand. It has expanded its world and cast as a movie series that heavily maintains social relevance.
Stars like Willem Dafoe, Laurence Fishburne, Lance Riddick, which we recently lost, and Halle Berry have expanded the franchise’s roster. TheJohn Wickuniverse will continue to expand withThe Continentalseries andBallerinaspin-off, led by Oscar-nominated Ana de Armas, who has recently been involved in the action genre withTheGray ManandJames Bond: No Time to Die.
The last name included in this cast of stars isShamier Anderson, who plays the character of Tracker, or Mr. Nobody, inJohn Wick: Chapter 4,which received the best reviews of the series and exceeded $200 million at the box office so far. And there are stars that Anderson wants to see in the franchise. In an interview withVulture, Anderson said he wanted to see Meryl Streep, Liam Neeson, and Denzel Washington join the action movies.
‘‘Liam Neeson would be a great antagonist. I think Denzel Washington would be a crazy antagonist. It would be really interesting to see a female villain; Meryl Streep would be something different. So those are my top three choices: Denzel Washington, Liam Neeson, and Meryl Streep.’’

‘We Want a Spin-Off. We Want More of the Tracker’
Anderson said that even though the audience does not know the Tracker very much, he is the person they can feel closest to and that the audience wants a spin-off.
‘‘This guy is the most relatable person to the audience. He doesn’t follow the rules of the High Table and the Marquis (Bill Skarsgård) and the Continental. He’s very much a normal guy. And I said, How do I layer that? What are his motivations? All the things you ask yourself when building a character. There’s a reason he’s doing this, and that’s what makes him so interesting and why you keep hearing, ‘‘We want a spinoff. We want more of the Tracker’’ And the ultimate thing that I talk about is, What if the motivation is his mom? What does his family look like? Where does this guy come from? Is he related to the Halle Berry character from the previous film? When I was working with Chad, those were all the things I was asking him about and building out to really round and sculpt him.’’
John Wick: Chapter 4is now playing in theaters and IMAX.
