While many fans are looking forward to Sunday, April 24 because ofGame of Thrones' return, others are circling that date becauseSeason 3ofSilicon Valleywill kick off on that same night. To get fans ready for the upcoming season, HBO has released the firsttrailer, which centers onThomas Middleditch’s character Richard Hendricks trying to assert himself, although it doesn’t go so well. Now that his company Pied Piper is back, Richard wants to get back the CEO title he rightfully deserves.
Last season, Richard was forced out as CEO ofPied Piper, the start-up company that developed innovative data-compression technology. As we can see in the trailer below, Richard is demanding to be re-instated as CEO of the company he built from the ground up, although he doesn’t exactly make a good impression. The series is loosely based on series co-creatorMike Judge’s experiences as aSilicon Valleyengineer in the 1980s, set in the modern-day epicenter of the high-tech gold rush, where the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success.
Silicon Valleywas co-created byMike Judge, John Altschuler & Dave Krinsky. The series starsThomas Middleditch,T.J. Miller, Zach Woods,Kumail Nanjiani,Martin Starr, Josh Brener,Amanda Crew, Matt Ross, Suzanne Cryer and Jimmy Ouyang.Mike Judge, Alec Berg, Michael Rotenberg and Tom Lassally serve as executive producers.
Newcast memberscoming aboard forSeason 3include Erin Breen as Jan, a new Pied Piper salesperson, andStephen Tobolowskyas Jack Barker, an aggressive and formidable Silicon Valley CEO that the Pied Piper team goes up against. Both of these new actors will have recurring roles inSeason 3, but it isn’t clear how many episodes they have signed on for. No other new cast members have been announced at this time, but we’ll keep you posted with more updates as soon as more information comes in.
