And it’s perfect. Speaking withScreen Rant, Elba was asked about a possible live-actionCyberpunk 2077movie fronted by himself and Reeves, which theThoractor now hopes to “speak that into existence.”
Any live-action adaptation of CD Projekt Red’s futuristic RPG would be foolish not to include A-listers Idris Elba and Keanu Reeves, as both have already played a part in the franchise in digital form. The former played former lawman-turned-hit-man Solomon Reed inCyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, while the latter portrayed the military veteran and “rockerboy” Johnny Silverhand.Putting them together on-screenin an adaptation is surely just printing money, and Elba now wants to see it happen.
“Oh, man, that’s a great question. I think if any film could do a live-action rendition, it could be [ Cyberpunk 2077 ], and I think his character and my character together would be, “Whoa.” So, let’s speak that into existence.”
Is a Live-Action ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Movie Happening?
While reports of a live-actionCyberpunk 2077movie did emerge last year, not much else has been released since. Netflix, however, has brought the franchise to life in animation in the anime seriesCyberpunk: Edgerunners, for which asecond season is also on its way.

While we await the announcement that Idris Elba and Keanu Reeves will reunite for aCyberpunk 2077movie (honestly, any studio would be crazy to pass up such a project), the pair will first share the big screen in this month’s video game sequel,Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Directed once again bySonic the HedgehogandSonic the Hedgehog 2’sJeff Fowler, and written by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington,Sonic the Hedgehog 3stars Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails, Idris Elba as Knuckles, and Keanu Reeves as Shadow the Hedgehog, with the rest of the cast including James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Lee Majdoub, and Jim Carrey, who will reprise the role of Dr. Ivo Robotnik.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is the sequel to the 2022 comedy-adventure movie that featured the Blue Blur and his companions on an adventure to stop Dr. Robotnik from taking over the world. The new film sees the new antagonist Shadow the Hedgehog, arriving to cause trouble for the newly formed trio of heroes, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, as they adjust to their earthly lives.
