During a May interview, series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone confirmed that they won’t take on U.S. PresidentDonald Trumpthis season, because the President’s actions have gone so far they’re beyond parody at this point, and because they don’t want to turnSouth Parkinto a purely political show. They also had to drastically change their Election Night episode last season, because they had already mapped out an episode where Hillary Clinton had won, and then they had to rework the episode in less than a day. Still, after 20 seasons, the show is more popular than ever.
