Horror icon Stephen King lovesA Quiet Place, calling it “extraordinary,” and surprising the hell out ofdirector John Krasinski, who wasn’t sure what to make of King’s praise for his horror debut.

The sound designers have been receiving a lot of praise for their hard work as well as John Krasinski’s acting and directorial style.Stephen Kingdefinitely took notice and took to social media to share his love of the movie. He had this to say.

Stephen King’s work has been adapted numerous times over the years, with last year’sITbecoming the highest grossing horror movie of all time. Director John Krasinski is obviously a fan of King’s work and couldn’t believe it when the iconic author tweeted out his praise forA Quiet Placeearlier this week. Krasinski retweeted Stephen King’s review and pretended like he was going to pass out.

As previously noted, the horror movie will take the number one spot at the box office this weekend, knocking out Stephen Spielberg’sReady Player One. The movie initially had a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but it has since dropped to 96 percent, which is still very good for Rotten Tomatoes. The screenplay forA Quiet Placewas written by John Krasinski, Bryan Woods, and Scott Beck, and it’s based on a story by Woods and Beck. The plot follows a family of four who must live life in silence while hiding from creatures that hunt by sound.
A Quiet Placesound editors Erik Aadahl and Ethan Van der Ryn describe the movie as, “a sound designer’s dream,” which means that they were left to their own devices after John Krasinski gave him his notes. The silence plays a huge role in the film, leading moviegoers to focus on the screen as well as the delicate touches and footsteps that add an eerie amount of tension throughout most of the movie.
