Are you a fan of Netflix’s nostalgia seriesStranger Things? I am. Well, at least I am now that the second season has come and gone. The first season, I was on the fence about, but the second cleared up all my concerns and worries and now the show is one of my favorites out there. And thus, you may imagine that I’m counting down the days, and controlling my excitement - which is fittingly cranked up to Eleven - for the upcoming third season.
And wouldn’t you know it, this weekendNetflixreleased a teaser trailer for the upcomingStranger Things 3and… it only contains the episode titles? Yep, Netflix and the marketing peeps behind the series pulled the same thing when season two was heading our way.
Stranger Things Season 3 Episode Titles:
What can be learned from this list? First off, and simplest, is that the upcoming third season ofStranger Thingswill boast eight episodes. This is in keeping with the series thus far, as the first season boasted eight episodes as well. The second season presented the world with a whopping nine episode when it hit. But that almost doesn’t count as the rogue ninth episodeChapter Seven: The Lost Sisterwas (I’m sure) a planned spin-off episode, a standalone, which featured Eleven and a band of like-minded punk rockers learning how to control their powers and not be a complete rip-off ofX-Men. In my opinion, the episode was a bust. And Netflix andThe Duffer Brothersmust feel the same, as here we are, back to eight episodes.
Returning for more things of the stranger variety from the first two seasons will be series mainstays such as Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Finn Wolfhard as Mike,Winona Ryder as Joyce, Noah Schnapp as Will, Caleb Mclaughlin as Lucas, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin, Natalia Dyer as Nancy, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan and Joe Keery as Steve. On top of those returning cast members, Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery will return as their characters from season 2, Max and her big brother Billy. Plus let us not forget that Lucas' little sister Erica (Priah Ferguson) is set to play a bigger role this time around where she will take on a “wild mission to save Hawkins from a dangerous and unexpected new threat”.
Stranger Things 3new additions include Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman’s daughterMaya Thurman-Hawkeas Robin, a character who “uncovers adark secret in Hawkins.” She’ll be joined by Gary Busey’s son, Jake Busey (Idenity,The Frighteners) as a character named Bruce, andThe Princes Bride, andSawstar Cary Elwes will also be joining in on the fun as Mayor Kline. Also on the roster for this new season is Francesca Reale (Hater’s Back Off) as a character named Heather who is a lifeguard at the local pool and “becomes the focal point of a dark mystery.” And judging by the title of episode 3 (see above) I think we can surmise what happens to her. At least at first… I guess we’ll all found out next year asStranger Things 3will likely arrive on Netflix in 2019. Thanks for the heads up, Netflix streaming Youtube channel.
