The winner for Best Drama Series at the75th Primetime Emmy Awardsis…Succession. The large cast and crew took to the stage, with creator Jesse Armstrong delivering a speech in which he said they can “now depart the stage,” adding that they were all honored to have been able to make the show.
“This wasn’t necessarily an easy show to commission right at the very beginning. This is a show about family but it’s also about when partisan politics, partisan news coverage gets intertwined with divisive, right wing politics and after four seasons of satire, as I understand it, that’s a problem we have now fixed. So we can now depart the stage. Listen, we are so honored we’ve loved making the show. Thank you very much indeed.”
