Brett Goldstein, the actor best known for giving life to Roy Kent in theApple TV+showTed Lasso, is gearing up for the show’supcoming fourth season.The series renewal was met with excitement from fans, who thought the show would not continue after Season 3. In a conversation withUSA Today, Goldstein offered a few details aboutTed LassoSeason 4. The actor is currently working in the writer’s room for the fourth season, which will see Jason Sudeikis' titular character shifting his attention to another group that isn’t AFC Richmond. Although Goldstein’s character, former player Roy Kent, remained as one of the possible leaders of the English soccer team, it appears that the coach will stay on the bench this time around. When asked if Roy Kent was set to return for Season 4, Goldstein just said the following: “What I can say is I’m back in a professional capacity as an executive producer and writer.”

“I cried and we had such an emotional goodbye. But I do think a part of me thought this wasn’t the end. I just felt like it’s such a lovely world. It sort of felt like surely there’ll be a way to do more. I guess I then thought maybe it isn’t going to happen. So then when it was happening, I was like, ‘Ah, wonderful.’ But I wasn’t completely surprised.”

When talking toUSA Today, Goldstein explained his love of stand-up comedy as a simple one: “I love stand-up. I do think it’s the purest in terms of there’s no one you have to discuss it with. With stand-up, I could have an idea in the afternoon, I can try it that day, and if it works, great. And if it doesn’t work, fine. We tried it.”
