Richard E. Grant lovedStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The actor posted his short, teary-eyed first reaction to the movie on social media. Grant is in the final installment of the Skywalker Saga playing Allegiant General Pryde, a high-ranking general in the First Order. Daisy Ridley has not expressed her thoughts on the movie yet, but she recently talked about her feelings on fan reactions when they finally get to see the movie in theaters.
The Rise of Skywalkeris easily one of the most-anticipated movies of the last decade.Star Warsfans are dying to know how the new movie compares to the previous two installments.Richard E. Granthas seen the movie and he believes that fans aren’t prepared for what’s in store this December. He explains.
“I’ve just seenStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalkerand nothing prepares you for this. I cheered, I shouted, I fist-pumped the air, I cried, I stood and cheered. It’s absolutely everything you hoped it was going to be. I’m so proud to be in it and I can’t wait for you to see it.”
Richard E. Grant seems pretty confident thatStar Wars fansare going to enjoyThe Rise of Skywalker. His emotion in the social media post shines right through, leading us to wonder what he had to cry about in the movie. As for Daisy Ridley’s thoughts on how fans will receive the movie, she’s not really all that worried about it. Ridley had this to say.
“There are people that are never going to f***in' like it and there’s no other way around it. But I think people are going to feel like this was made with a lot of love and JJ worked really hard to tie up nine films. It’s impossible to make everyone happy.”
Daisy Ridley is right about not being able to please everybody. There’s no way J.J. Abrams was able to craft a movie that allStar Warsfans will enjoy. It’s virtually impossible, thoughThe Mandalorian has seemingly pulled off that featon the small screen. While not everybody is destined to likeStar Wars 9, Ridley does wish some fans would keep their opinion to themselves. She explains.
“Some of the sht people have said to me aboutStar Warsyou wouldn’t believe. I have had people say to me, ‘I mean, it wasn’t a great film, was it?’ I’m like, that’s just bad manners. That’s f**in' not nice.”
The Rise of Skywalkeris only a few weeks away from hitting theaters andexpectations are high. This is the end of nine movies, which some fans treat as a religion. There’s even more pressure to deliver since Rian Johnson’sThe Last Jediwas so divisive. Whatever the case may be, Richard E. Grant believes J.J. Abrams knocked it out of the park.
