Seth Rogen’sThe Studiooffered a satirical look at the film industry, andSeason 2 promises to deliver even more star power, building on the success of the first season. The co-creator of the hit Apple TV+ comedy series has a few names in mind for the celebrity cameo roster heading into the next season, but there is one specific actor he would love to work with in the sophomore run. Rogen made an on-air plea to his dream guest star during a recent television appearance, saying he thinks their persona would be “funny to explore” in a future episode.

Rogen discussed his highly acclaimed Hollywood satire, which garnereda near-perfect score from criticson Rotten Tomatoes, when he stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live. The host reeled off some of the big names that featured in the cast in Season 1, including renowned filmmakers Martin Scorsese and Ron Howard, before prodding his guest about the other celebrities he would like to enlist moving forward. Top of Rogen’s list seemed to beVin Dieselas he specifically named theFast & Furiousicon as someone he would like to team with.

10 Best Cameos and Guest Stars in ‘The Studio’ Season 1

Set in Hollywood, ‘The Studio’ features real celebrities playing themselves in every episode,

“There’s a lot of actors I would love to work with, and some specifically who I think, you know, their personas are funny to explore. I think Vin Diesel would be very funny and fun to work with, mostly because if you think about it, he’s only in thoseFast & Furiousmovies. For most of the people’s lifetime who are in their 20s now, he’s only ever been Dominic Toretto, ever. So, to see him outside of Dominic Toretto, to me, would be very exciting.”

Vin Diesel as Dom Toretto in the Fast & Furious franchise

Rogen then went one step further and extended an invitation directly to Diesel to join the cast ofThe StudioSeason 2, adding to his now-growing list of verypublic pitches for the upcoming batch of episodes. “I assume you’re watching this as you do every night,” he joked, as he spoke directly to camera in the hopes of catching Diesel’s attention. “I assume you’re watching it while driving like a 65 Pontiac. If you would, please consider, maybe we can organize a Zoom or something like that – and I’ll capture your baldness on a hard drive.”

What Is Vin Diesel Known for Other Than ‘Fast & Furious’?

As one of the world’s highest-grossing actors, Diesel is no stranger to lights, cameras, and (plenty of) action. He is well known for playing tough, stoic characters who are skilled in physical prowess, with his most highly recognized role being Dominic “Dom” Toretto in theFast & Furiousfranchise — as Rogen quite rightly points out. However, he is also famous for portraying Xander Cage in thexXxseries and Riddick inThe Chronicles of Riddick, alongsideroles in other action-orientated filmssuch asPitch Black,A Man Apart, andBloodshot.

Diesel has occasionally dabbled in other genres, having taken a more comedic role in Disney’s 2005 family filmThe Pacifierand starred as an ageless knight ina wild 2015 fantasy thriller nobody talks about. He has also done some voice acting, most notably as Groot in the MCU’sGuardians of the Galaxyfranchise, but, on the whole,The Studiowould mark a major departure for the actor, as he hasn’t had many significant appearances on TV shows, other than reprising some of his most beloved voice roles in some animated shows and shorts.

He would no doubt be in good company if he were to sign on for a role inThe Studio, as the first season attracted a slew of A-listers, all playing themselves to maintain the illusion that the show is set in Tinseltown. The cameos included, but were not limited to, Zac Efron, Anthony Mackie, Olivia Wilde, Dave Franco, Zoë Kravitz, and Zack Snyder, but Rogen’s Matt Remick will soon be back on our screens searching for another studio-saving tentpole movie to draw crowds, and Diesel might turn out to be the star power that the project needs to succeed.
