Earlier today,Spider-Man: HomecomingstarTom Hollandheld a live Q&A session, just hours after thefirst trailerdebuted. The young actor answered a number of questions from fans, offering an interesting reveal about his prepartions to play young Peter Parker. It was recently confirmed that Parker will be a sophomore in high school when this movie begins, andTom Hollandsays he actually went to a NYC school to prepare for the role.

The actor answered fan questions for just over 30 minutes onFacebook, where he explained how he enrolled in a New York high school. The 19-year-old actor is originally from London, so the American high school experience is quite different from what he was used to. Here’s whatTom Hollandhad to say during his Facebook Q&A session earlier today.

“The coolest thing I think I did for the movie was I was enrolled in a high school in New York, in the Bronx, as a secret. No one knew who I was or what I was doing. I had a fake name and a fake accent. I went to school for three days. It was really fun. It was really interesting because New York high schools are so different to schools that I went to in London. Where I went to a school where you have to wear a suit and tie and it’s all boys, and for me it was the first time that I was in a classroom with girls. It was a really strange experience, it was really fun.”

WhileTom Hollandisn’t exacly a household name yet, he made his feature film debut four years ago inThe Impossible, alongsideNaomi Watts, and he has also starred inHow We Live Now, the UK TV seriesWolf Halland last year’sIn the Heart of the Sea, alongside another Marvel hero,Chris Hemsworth. The actor says no one recognized him at this school, and no one actually believed that he was playingSpider-Man. Here’s what he had to say about one of his classmates, when asked if he told anyone that he wasSpider-Man.

“I told one person. I told one kid at the school. I was like ‘Hey man, listen, I’m actuallySpider-Man.’ He did not believe me… At the time I hadn’t made the movie, so I didn’t have any pictures to show him to prove that I wasSpider-Man. No one believed me. Which is actually a good thing, because it makes me think that ifPeter Parkerwent up in his school and was like ‘I’m Spider-Man,’ everyone would be like ‘Nah dude, no you’re not.'”
