Yesterday, Paramount andHasbroconfirmed thatTransformers 5is officially titledTransformers: The Last Knight. Now, they have announced that originalTransformersstarJosh Duhamelwill return as Lieutenant Colonel Lennox for this fifth chapter in the series. The actor later confirmed the news on his personalTwitterpage. He had this to say.
“Lieutenant Colonel Lennox reporting for duty. Let’s do this. @michaelbay Great to be back. I think I remember… the big trailer’s mine, right? Looking forward to it. Don’t forget to bring your golf clubs.”
The actor was introduced as Lieutenant Colonel Lennox in 2007’sTransformers, and later returned in 2009’sRevenge of the Fallenand 2011’sDark of the Moon, all directed byMichael Bay, who gives the actor a shout out in the tweets below.Duhameldidn’t show up in 2014’sAge of Extinction, which was supposed to work as a proper franchise reboot.Transformers 5will pairJosh DuhamelandMark Wahlbergon screen for the first time.
It’s unclear if other original trilogy stars such asShia LaBeoufand Megan Fox will return for this next sequel, but that’s entirely possible and has been rumored in the past.Foxwas notoriously removed from the third movie and replaced byRosie Huntington-Whiteleyafter comparingBayto Hitler. The filmmaker and actress later made up, withMegan Foxnow headlining the human side of theTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesfranchise.

This latest sequel has Prime searching through the cosmos for the Quintessons, the beings believed to be responsible for the creation of theTransformersrace. Meanwhile back at home,Wahlberg’s Cade Yeager will be facing a new alien threat that brings Lennox back into duty.
Isabela Monerrecently boarded the sequel as the female lead. She is best known for such indie movies as100 Things to Do Before High SchoolandGrowing Up Fisher. The movie also landedJerrod Carmichaelfrom NBC’sThe Carmichael Showas the comedic relief this time out. Shooting will take place inDetroit, with various on-location shoots planned to take place throughout the world.
