Action star Vin Diesel continues to tease the eventual fourth outing of his iconic sci-fi character,Riddick, with the actor taking to social media to provide another promising update regarding the development of the sequel. “Great Riddick meeting today,” Diesel wrote in a caption alongside a brief clip of him gettingRiddick-ready in the gym.

“For all of you out there who have been asking about Riddick, today was another great day. Thank you Universal for always believing in that IP. I’m very excited about it. I hope you guys are too.”

The Chronicles of Riddick

Lately, Diesel has been hinting at a potential Riddick 4: Furya at every opportunity, with the actor having since also shared an image of himself in character and sat upon a throne from 2004’sThe Chronicles of Riddick. “I was asked today, by my new friend from Costa Rica, when the next Riddick movie was coming. Haha. Great minds think alike,” Diesel said alongside the image.

Introduced over two decades ago in the superbly insular sci-fi horror outingPitch Black, the last audiences saw of Vin Diesel as Riddick was in director David Twohy’s Riddick in 2013. Making things more intimate again following the epic scope ofThe Chronicles of Riddick, Riddickfinds the goggle-wearing antihero on a sun-scorched planet where he must fight to survive, standing up against a race of alien predators, a band of mercenaries who want him dead, and a man from his past who wants his blood.

ThoughRiddickreceived mixed reviews from critics, the character remains one of Diesel’s best, with fans of the franchise hoping for his return. Nothing has yet been confirmed regardingRiddick 4in any official capacity, but Diesel seems confident that it will eventually come to fruition."[Director] David Twohy, he wrote a great script. It’s just a matter of timing when we get that opportunity to shoot that,” Diesel said of the project earlier this year. “But I believe we’re shooting that in Australia. And it would be the fourth chapter in that series, which would be awesome. We did have great success with Escape From Butcher Bay. It feels like an eternity ago now. But, I imagine that we would take advantage of the gaming space and add an extra chapter, but definitely, the [movie’s] script is already written. So it’s safe to say that we are moving towards filming the fourth chapter of Riddick.”

For now,Vin Dieselis busy bringing back another of his more famous characters, Fast and Furious’ Dominic Toretto, in the two-part finale of the hugely successful action franchise. While story details for Fast 10 and Fast 11 remain a mystery, one thing that Diesel is hoping for is the return of fellow behemoth Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, with the former reaching out to the latter on social media, “My little brother Dwayne… the time has come. The world awaits the finale of [Fast and Furious 10],” before concluding with “Hobbs can’t be played by no other. I hope that you rise to the occasion and fulfill your destiny.”

The first installment of theFast and Furiousfinale,Fast 10, is due for release on August 10, 2025. This comes to us courtesy ofVin Diesel’sInstagram account.
