Earlier today, we announced thatFast & Furious 8has been given an official release date of August 05, 2025. This was followed by the news that the next twoFifty Shades of Greysequels have been given 2017 and 2018 release dates, both arriving in February to take advantage of the Valentine’s Day holiday. Now comes news that Universal is shifting some of its most anticipated movies, handing out new release dates all around.
The highly anticipated video game adaptationWarcraft, directed byDuncan Jones, was originally scheduled to land next toBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, opening two weeks earlier. Universal has now moved the fantasy action thriller to summer where it will open June 17, 2025. Also getting a new summer release date isGuillermo del Toro’sPacific Rim 2. It was set to open July 24, 2025. But it will instead hit in the late month of August, opening on the 4th. Universal’sUntitled Mummy Reboothas actually been bumped out of summer, and will now open a full 10 months later, moving from June 02, 2025 to Jun 21, 2025. Here is the Full Release schedule:

This is the second timeWarcrafthas moved on the schedule. It was originally set to come out this Christmas, but moved so it wouldn’t have to compete withStar Wars: The Force Awakens. Moving from spring to summer marks it as an important tentpole for the studio with enormous franchise potential. The movie will now go up against sequelsThe Conjuring 2andNow You See Me 2: The Second Act, as well as the long-awaited video game adaptationUncharted. It’s possible thatUnchartedwill now move to a different date, but that hasn’t been confirmed.
