This eliminates using a green screen, drastically reducing the time needed in post-production.

For those who watchedDark, you will know the entire series was shot in the German language, with Netflix giving you the ability to play an English dub over the original if you desired. However, Odar and Friese are taking it a step further this time, with1899shooting entirely multilingual, with each actor speaking their native language.
“Being true to the cultures and languages was really important, we never wanted to have characters from different countries but everyone speaks English. We wanted to explore this heart of Europe, where everyone comes from somewhere else and speaks a different language, and language defines so much of your culture and your behavior.”
