Disney’sEncantofell to number two this weekend after bringing in $9.4 million, which is only down 28% from last weekend. As of this writing,Encantohas earned $151.8 million globally since debuting in theaters three weeks ago.Ghostbusters: Afterlifefell from number two to three this weekend with $7.1 million. The latest offering from theGhostbustersfranchise has earned $164.5 million worldwide since debuting in theaters four weeks ago. Meanwhile,House of Guccitook the fourth spot with $4 million.
Marvel Studios’Eternalscame remained at number five this weekend after earning $3.1 million. The divisiveMCU installmenthas earned $395.3 million globally after six weeks in theaters.Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon Cityremained at number six this weekend after bringing in $1.6 million. The latest adaptation in the long-running video game series has been praised by fans for being faithful to the source material, while the story has been heavily criticized.Clifford the Big Red Dogremained at number seven after bringing in $1.3 million.
Christmas with the Chosen: The Messengersfell to number eight this weekend with $1.2 million. Denis Villeneuve’sDunetook the ninth position with $857K. Villeneuve and Warner Bros. will tell the rest of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi epicin a second installment, which has some long-time fans excited after waiting years for a proper big screen adaptation. Finally,Venom: Let There Be Carnagecame in at number ten after earning $850K. As of this writing, the sequel has earned $493.3 million worldwide.
