Much likeBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicebefore it,Suicide Squadfared well at the box office ($320.8 million domestic, $738.8 million worldwide), but failed to impress critics (26% on Rotten Tomatoes). While we wait to see if the rest of the DCEU movies can fare any better, new pieces ofconcept arthave surfaced that reveal early looks for Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Katana (Karen Fukuhara) and Incubus (Alain Chanoine). We’re not sure how early in the production process these pieces of artwork were commissioned, but they feature much different looks for these characters, compared to their final looks.
Concept artistStephen Martinieredebuted the new artwork on his official website, which all feature much more elaborate costumes than the final designs. For example, there are a number of differentEnchantressdesigns which feature full headdress' and some even with flowing capes. Some of these designs cover almost every inch of Enchantress' body, but the final costume Enchantress wears during the film’s climax is much skimpier than any of these designs.
As forKatana, her costume in the movie isn’t very revealing at all, butStephen Martiniere’s version of the costume is very different from the movie version. The concept art shows that Katana doesn’t have a mask at all, and the outfit is quite different from what we saw in the movie. We also see early looks at the secondary villain Incubus, along with some of the random zombified people the Squad faces in this movie.

There have been rumors that Warner Bros. wants to bring back directorDavid Ayerand the rest of the cast forSuicide Squad 2, which the studio hopes to start filming in early 2017. Those rumors haven’t been confirmed, but hopefully we’ll hear more about the sequel soon. Until then, take a look at the concept art fromSuicide Squadbelow.
