Blood of Zeus Cast and Plot
Blood of Zeusfollows the story of Heron, a young man who is raised as an outsider due to his illegitimate birth. However, whenhe discovers he is the demigod son of Zeus, Heron’sfate becomes intertwined with the gods.When Seraphim threatens both the realm of man and the gods with a demonic army, Heron must embrace his newly awakened powersto save both.Blood of Zeuspremiered its second season in May 2024, with the third season anticipated sometime in 2025; the show’s creators have expressed plans for a total of five seasons.
Heron is voiced by actor Derek Phillips, who many will recognize for his role as Billy Riggins in the TV seriesFriday Night Lights. Blood of Zeusis currently 100% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with 21 reviews and at 87% on the popcorn meter. On IMDb, Blood of Zeus sits at 7.5/10. The show has receivedpraise for its compelling reimagining of Greek mythology, turning the gods and mortals against each other in an “epic battle royale.” The animation style also saw praise, with itsmix of horror and fantasy with a gorgeous and sometimes frightening backdrop of Ancient Greece. This is not surprising given that the animation comes from the same team, Powerhouse Animation, that was behind theNetflix hit animated series,Castlevania. In addition, the voice acting has also been described as being perfectly cast.
