Michael Bubléis perhaps best known as a singer. He’s also acted on occasion. But he was almostscaredaway from the profession entirely back in themid-90s, when he found himself fired from one of themost popular showsof that era. And you won’t believe what got him canned.

Most individuals who come to Hollywood to make it big as an actor fail miserably. It is one of the roughest professions out there. And even if a young star does break through the madness, it’s always amerciless journey. Michael Bublé did not have it easy when he first stepped foot in Los Angeles. Speaking withTV Lineabout his auspicious start, he revealed why he might be better suited as a musician.

Bublé began his Hollywood acting career by taking extra work and very small bit parts. One of the better gigs he landed was inThe X-Files. He was set to play the member of a submarine crew during aSeason 3episode. But he got the axe for committing a food faux pas.

The young up-and-coming actor grabbed food off the craft service table when he shouldn’t have. As he explains it, he was just really, really hungry. Sadly, no one told him he shouldn’t do that. So a hot dog cost him one of the cooler moments in his early career. He explains.

I swear to god, I was starving and I grabbed a hot dog off the craft services table. And this woman said I would never work again in Hollywood. I would be blacklisted and I would never, ever work in the business."

Getting fired fromThe X-Filesmight have actually worked in Michael Bublé' favor. He’s of course returned to TV. He’s appeared onSaturday Night Live. And he has an upcoming NBC holiday special calledChristmas in Hollywoodarriving soon. He also has a number of bestselling albums on his resume at this point. It’s safe to say that getting fired fromThe X-Filesdidn’t ruin his career. But we’re pretty sure he won’t be making a guest starring appearance when the show returns for alimited revival seriesthis January.
