Earlier this week,Bill & Ted 3screenwriter Ed Solomon revealed that there have been scenes created forWilliam Sadlerand his Death character, and that he’d love for the actor to return. It didn’t take long for the news to reach Sadler, who’s revealed that he is game to reprise the role. Now all we have to do is secure some financial backing for the long-awaited sequel, so we can finally see it.
Ed Solomon co-created Bill and Ted with Chris Matheson, and the duo have been hard at work onBill and Ted 3, aka Bill and Ted Face the Music. In a recent Twitter exchange, Solomon and William Sadler were tagged in a post praisingDeathfrom Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey and hoping for a return inBill and Ted 3. Ed Solomon promptly responded by saying, “Bill crushed it as Death. And we laughed a lot writing him in BT3 - so let’s hope it’s something that happens.” William Sadler than simply replied, “Have scythe, will travel.”
There has been alot of talkaboutBill and Ted 3over the last handful of months and it appears as if finding the financial backing for the project is the last hurdle in getting the movie off of the ground. Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson are still writing the script, but Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, and now William Sadler are in for the sequel.Reeves recently talked about the scriptand how much he and Winter liked the idea of seeing their Bill and Ted characters as middle-aged men.
TheWyld Stallynswill reportedly meet up with their younger selves at some point inBill and Ted 3and will meet up with Rufus' daughter, which solves the George Carlin aspect of the movie. Bill and Ted have to write a song that saves the universe after orignally thinking it was only the world. With crumbling marriages and kids that don’t really like them,Bill and Ted 3seems like the perfect way to reintroduce the characters to a whole new audience while pleasing fans that have been waiting nearly 30 years to see what the Wyld Stallyns have been up to.
As for now, that’s all there is to report about the possibility ofBill and Ted 3. Everybody involved seems to be enthusiastic about returning to tell the story of the two iconic dudes, so let’s hope that they find some money sometime soon, perhaps in Keanu Reeves' couch? Or, maybe Netflix will pick it up. It’s all up in the air for right now, but it sure seems like the perfect time to bring back Bill and Ted to watch them attempt to save the universe.
