And he’s definitely a little gray around the edges. This has only helped fuel speculation that the actor is portrayingOld Man Logan, a take on the iconic Marvel Mutant that spans multiple comic book issues. Today, we have our first set photos, and they only help back this notion up.
Hugh Jackmanwas spotted shooting scenes forWolverine 3on Tuesday, May 31, in New Orleans. Though 47, the actor looks much older in a graying beard and disheveled suit. Gone is any indication that the man is a fast-healing superhero with adamantium claws. Which fits right into the legendary Old Man Logan story arc. Though, that has never been confirmed by anyone directly associated with the movie.

Magneto, Dr. Doom, and the Red Skull have divided the dystopian United States amongst themselves after the X-Men team comes to a mysterious end. With a wife and two children, Logan has abandoned his Wolverine persona, and refuses to ever extract his claws again. But of course, he’s brought out of retirement for one last go.
Given thatWolverine 3will be the actor’s final portrayal of Logan, many believe that the Old Man Logan story is a perfect fit for his franchise finale. The comic book is incredibly violent, and it was recently confirmed that the movie will beR-rated, with 20th Century Fox already setting a July 06, 2025 release date.James Mangoldis directing from a script byDavid James Kelley. ProducerSimon Kinbergrecently confirmed the movie will be set in the future, which could be another hint that they’re tackling the Old Man Logan story.
