While Disney and LucasFilm’s firstStar Wars spin-offdoesn’t hit theaters until December 16, preparations are currently under way in the heart of Hollywood for the Los Angeles premiere at the Pantages Theater. Hollywood Boulevard is currently shut down to prepare for the premiere, which takes place Saturday, December 10, with one section of the street fenced off from the prying eyes of pedestrians. Earlier today, Los Angeles' local Fox affiliate, Fox 11, caught an aerial glimpse at what’s behind the barricade, a massive X-Wing ship.

The video debuted on the Fox 11Twitter, and while it’s only 25 seconds long, we get a good glimpse at thisX-Wingship, parked right in the middle of the closed-off street. It’s possible that this is one of the practical ships that were used on the set itself, but that has yet to be confirmed. Since X-Wings play a pivotal part in the story, it’s fitting to see one of these actual ships being put on display for the world premiere.

This X-Wing ship is just one example of how the production embraced practical effects. Earlier this week, LucasFilm debuted an extended preview that took fans inside thecreature shop, which showcased a number of unique new creatures. The video also feautred directorGareth Edwardsshaking the hand of an actor who is playing an unidentified Mon Calimari character. It reamins to be seen if this character has any relation to the most famous Mon Calimari, Admiral Ackbar. With just days left until this adventure hits theaters, it remains to be seen how much more footage will be shown to the fans.
