Recently, a photo along with a transcribed conversation betweenKeanu Reeves and a young boyat an airport was posted on Twitter and had gone viral. Reeves was traveling from London to New York City and stopped by baggage claim where he was approached by a young male wanting an autograph and full of questions, to which he patiently obliged. That lucky fan who shared the same flight as Reeves has now been identified and spoke toETabout his encounter with theJohn Wickstar.
The kid at the center of all this attention is 14-year-old Alex Katsanos who says he is still stunned.Katsanos explained:
“When the plane was first boarding, I was pretty sure I saw him, but he entered the plane so quickly, so I wasn’t sure. The whole flight from London I was thinking about, ‘What if it is him? What should I say? What should I get him to sign?”

Alex Katsanos Devised a Plan That Worked in His Favor
Fortunately, Katsanos also did a little research. He looked up the star online to see if there was any news about Reeves being in London and ultimately found out he was spotted at the Grand Prix. The teen tore a piece off a paper bag and prepared to summon up the courage should the opportunity to approach Reeves arise. Katsanos added:
“I brought a pen that a flight attendant gave me and kept those two things in my pocket for the duration of the plane ride. I saw that he was spotted at the Grand Prix. That made me more confident that [it] was Keanu Reeves on my flight."
Katsanos concluded:
“It was really a natural conversation. He was very nice, and we had a great conversation for around 10 minutes while we were waiting for our luggage. I still can’t believe I not only got the chance to see him but to have a conversation with him and get his autograph. This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, and it was incredible.
“When I first approached him, I was just planning on getting a picture and an autograph if I was lucky, but I am so glad that I ended up having this interaction with him. I am still stunned that I had the chance to meet such a famous celebrity and get to have a normal conversation with someone as famous as that. I am really shocked this went so viral, and I am so amazed that so many people are fascinated by the interaction I had with Keanu Reeves.”
Keanu Reeves seems to have a habit of being sweet and gracious. In 2019, the actor went viral for purchasing ice cream just so he could autograph the receipt of another young fan. As for when the rest of the world can see beloved star, Reeves will reportedly star in the Hulu seriesThe Devil in the White City, a project on which he replaced Leonardo DiCaprio.John Wick: Chapter 4is set to hit theaters August 26, 2025.
