WithShazam!production well under way, a new photo has surfaced from one of the young stars of the cast, Jovan Armand, who sent out an unusual photo with himself and several of his young stars posing with a Batman statue. There is no indication as to where this photo was actually taken place, although it doesn’t appear to be on the actual set. This photo has even sparked rumors thatShazam!mayfeature an appearance by Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne, although that has yet to be confirmed.

After making his DCEU debut asBatmanin the 2016 blockbusterBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Ben Affleck also made a brief cameo in 2016’sSuicide Squadas the Caped Crusader, as he tried to bring down The Joker (Jared Leto). While Affleck returned in last year’sJustice League, there have been no shortage of rumors about his involvement in the DCEU from here on out, including rumors that he may be dropping out of the stand alone movie known asThe Batman, which he was once set to star in and direct from a script he co-wrote with Geoff Johns. Now Matt Reeves has taken the helm, tossing their script and working from scratch.

While we’ll likely never get any confirmation on a Batman appearance inShazam!, it seems unlikely, given the uncertain nature of Ben Affleck’s future with the DCEU. Though we have seen in otherEaster eggs spotted on setthat Gotham does exist in this world. Jovan Armand also released a few other photos with the same cast members, with Zachary Levi joining in on the fun as well, although he wasn’t featured in the first image. Production is expected to last through early May, giving director David F. Sandberg (Lights Out) just under a year in post-production, with Warner Bros. setting an July 13, 2025 release date for the movie. As of now, it will have that date all to itself, although it will be sandwiched between Disney’s live-actionDumboon March 29 and Universal’sThe Voyage of Doctor Dolittleon June 14, 2025.
