Disneyhas unveiled an exciting new trailer forZootopia 2, offering fans their best look yet at its long-awaited animated sequel. Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman reprise their voice roles as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde in the latest footage that sees the beloved detective duo return nearly a decade after their first big-screen outing, which became a billion-dollar hit at the worldwide box office. They are finally back in action and doing what they do best in the mammal metropolis, with only a small detour to “dysfunction junction” en route to the big city.
The trailer forZootopia 2sees Hopps and Wilde attending group counseling for seemingly mismatched police partners, overseen by Dr. Fuzzby, an adorable quokka who is small in stature but wise with words. Thevoice might be familiar to viewersas it hails fromAbbott Elementarystar and creator Quinta Brunson. “Welcome to ‘Partners in Crisis.’ I’m your therapy animal,” she introduces the session, which hosts various dysfunctional duos, including an elephant who is terrified of the mouse she shares her squad car with while on duty.

‘Zootopia’ might be a kids' movie about fuzzy animals, but even the cutest animals can bite.
However, Hopps and Wilde have much bigger problems on their paws than trying to resolve their quibbles. They receive a make-or-break assignment from the chief of police that sends them undercover in “unexpected new parts of town” in hot pursuit of a twisty troublemaker, per the official synopsis forZootopia 2(below). The venomous snake, who features in the trailer, isvoiced by Ke Huy Quan. It looks like he will be difficult to apprehend, as he slithers away from situations faster than the lead duo can shout, “Stop in the name of the law!”

Zootopia 2is set to open in theaters for Thanksgiving crowds on Jul 23, 2025. This period in the calendar year is traditionally strong for box office performance, as it is a prime time for moviegoing, but it does also mean that Disney’sZootopiasequel is positioned alongside several other major releases. Among the highly anticipated titles releasing in November are Guillermo del Toro’sFrankenstein, a new adaptation ofThe Running Manled by Glen Powell, and the second part of Jon M. Chu’s musical extravaganza,Wicked: For Good.
The secondZootopiafeature arrives over nine years after the first film broke onto the scene.
